Great Place, Great Service, Great Price!
My Mate and I stayed here recently on our trip to Fernie. A friend recommended this place to us based on location, cost and product and when we turned up that is exactly what we got...in spades. Sam the owner/manager immediately made us feel welcomed and was eager to help us fit in and become comfortable, he showed us around the site and gave us the low down on the town including where the local pub was [called The Pub], literally 50 meters across the car park. We stayed for two day which was great, the hotel room was cleaned everyday and re-stocked, and we never saw the cleaners, Sam would potter around the site doing gardening and general maintenance and it shows with the amazing flower display he has created here only adding to the ambience of the mountains and a mountain town. We were so impressed when we came back we stayed the rest of our visit [6days] at the Powder Mountain. Sam went out of his way to again show us that hospitality doesn't cost anything but goes a long way. He bumped us up into one of the first floor rooms with the most amazing views of Mount Fernie from our window and balcony. The pool was awesome and we enjoyed sucking back on a growler filled at Fernie Brewery while we chilled around the pool. The pool for its size [15m] is ridiculously deep which I loved. Sam would offer tips and ideas for what to do while in Fernie and how to get places quickly and was always willing to have a chat, again, good hospitality like this is free. During our stay there were a number of difficult patrons and I commend Sam for his professionalism and keeping this away from all other visitors. I would strongly recommend this establishment to anyone who is staying in Fernie and don't think you will be in any way disappointed. I will certainly be back to Powder Mountain Lodge when we come back to hit the hills on the snowboard. Loved it!!
Comfortable community
We were well accommodated by owner and staff when we asked for a room change. We were given helpful directions for meals. We felt the place was like those old movies where all the young actors and dancers live together in a motel in LA and have a great community.
